Environmental Sample Training Workshop #1

8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Workshop is limited to 30 participants


Environmental samples can often link an illness to establishment for a period of time after food is no longer available. Learn more about how to conduct environmental sampling in retail food (restaurants, grocery, etc.) for outbreak investigations including practical exercises.


CEUs are being offered in conjunction with completion of this workshop.  A total of 6 CEUs are available through the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA).


8:00 am - 8:30 am: Sign-in/meet and greet

8:30 am - 12:30 am: Classroom presentation

2:00 pm – 3:30 pm: Field experience environmental sampling

·         Test your knowledge using various sampling materials for different outbreak scenarios in a real kitchen with real materials

3:30 pm – 4:30 pm: Course evaluations and discussion

Lodging and Guest Reservations

Lodging is available for workshop participants who also plan to attend the 2023 MCAFDO Annual Educational Conference. Lodging is available at the Embassy Suites Hilton Norman Hotel & Conference Center at  a group rate of $104.00 per night, plus tax (13.75%)  The estimated rate per night is $118.30.  Hotel reservations must be made before Sunday, January 29, 2023 to secure the group rate.  Hotel reservations may be booked directly through the hotel using the provided web link:

REGISTRATION PAYMENT - Once the online registration form has been completed, you will be emailed an invoice and will given the option to pay the invoice immediately or at a later date.  Payment can be made with a debit card or credit card through PayPal.  Users do not have to have a PayPal account to make a payment and may use guest payment to complete their transaction.
